Dr. Yasir is a distinguished general surgeon with over 25 years of clinical experience in general surgery across various government and private healthcare institutions in the UAE and internationally. Originally from Sudan, he is currently affiliated with Doctor Clinic & Diagnostic Center DCDC since 2022.
Dr. Latif has served as a Senior Lecturer at Dubai Medical College, where he was promoted to Associate Professor of General Surgery in 2015. He has also contributed to Sharjah University as a teaching staff member and final year examiner from 2018 to 2022. His commitment to medical education is further exemplified by his role as an external examiner for the MRCS examination for the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK.

Dr. Yasir has been an active member of the DHA Licensing Committee since 2013, evaluating aspiring surgeons looking to practice in the UAE. He also served on the Surgical Licensing Committee for the DHA from 2013 to 2022. In the clinical setting, he has held positions as a Senior Specialist Registrar (SSR), covering 2nd and 3rd on-call duties since 2007, and has worked as a consultant (3rd on-call) at Dubai Hospital since January 2013.

Renowned for his pioneering efforts, Dr. Yasir was the first surgeon to introduce minimally invasive endoscopic thyroidectomy and parathyroidectomy techniques in the DHA and the UAE, particularly the Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy Vestibular Approach (TOETVA). He successfully conducted the first regional course on transoral thyroidectomy at the Surgical Institute of Sharjah University from 2018 to 2022.

His special interest in endocrine surgery led to the invention of significant anatomical landmarks known as the Dubai Triangle and Amin’s Triangle, which assist surgeons in identifying vital structures during TOETVA procedures, effectively minimizing complications and enhancing the learning curve. This innovative technique has gained international recognition in the fields of endoscopic and robotic surgical neck procedures. Together with his colleagues, Dr. Yasir has helped establish a Centre of Excellence for Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery at Dubai Hospital.
