HIV 1 & 2
Fourth-generation antigen-antibody combination assay detecting both HIV-1 and HIV-2 with a shortened window period of 14-45 days for earliest possible detection.
Hepatitis B (HBsAg)
Surface antigen screening for active hepatitis B infection, with additional markers (anti-HBs, anti-HBc) available for complete immunity and infection status assessment.
Hepatitis C (Anti-HCV)
Antibody screening for hepatitis C virus exposure, with confirmatory HCV RNA PCR testing and genotyping available for positive results to guide treatment.
Syphilis (VDRL/RPR)
Non-treponemal screening for syphilis with automatic confirmatory TPHA or FTA-ABS testing for any reactive result, plus quantitative titre for staging and treatment monitoring.

HIV 1 and 2, hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), hepatitis C antibody (anti-HCV), syphilis (VDRL/RPR), and thalassaemia/sickle cell screening. For female applicants, rubella IgG immunity testing is also required.
Fourth-generation HIV tests detect both p24 antigen and HIV-1/HIV-2 antibodies with sensitivity exceeding 99.5 percent after 45 days. The window period is 14-21 days.
HBsAg indicates active infection (present in blood, potentially infectious). Anti-HBs indicates immunity from vaccination or recovery (above 10 mIU/mL is protective).
VDRL is a screening test that can produce biological false positives in pregnancy, lupus, and certain viral infections. All reactive results undergo confirmatory treponemal testing (TPHA or FTA-ABS).
Rubella during the first trimester causes congenital rubella syndrome (deafness, heart defects, cataracts, intellectual disability) in up to 90 percent of exposed foetuses. Rubella IgG confirms immunity from vaccination or past infection.
