Echo at Home in Dubai: Portable Echocardiogram at Your Doorstep
Cardiologist-Reviewed Heart Ultrasound Without Leaving Home

Diagnostic-Grade Equipment
DCDC Home Care brings portable echocardiography directly to your home in Dubai. An echocardiogram (echo) uses ultrasound waves to produce real-time images of your heart, allowing our cardiologist to assess chamber size, wall motion, valve function, ejection fraction, and blood flow patterns without requiring you to travel to a clinic. This is particularly valuable for elderly patients, those with limited mobility, post-surgical patients, and anyone managing a chronic cardiac condition who needs regular monitoring.
Our home echo service uses the same diagnostic-grade portable ultrasound equipment found in leading cardiac units. A trained cardiac sonographer arrives at your home, performs the study following standardised imaging protocols, and transmits the data securely for cardiologist review. You receive a full written report, typically within 24 to 48 hours, detailing findings such as left ventricular function, valvular regurgitation or stenosis, pericardial effusion, and any structural abnormalities.
Echocardiography is the cornerstone of non-invasive cardiac assessment. It is the first-line imaging tool for evaluating heart failure, monitoring valve disease, assessing the impact of hypertension on the heart, and checking cardiac function before or after surgery. By offering this service at home, DCDC removes the barrier of travel for patients who find clinic visits difficult, while maintaining the same clinical rigour and reporting standards used in our Dubai Healthcare City facility.
Whether your cardiologist has requested a follow-up echo, you are experiencing unexplained breathlessness or fatigue, or you need baseline cardiac assessment as part of a health screening, our portable echo service provides accurate, convenient, and cardiologist-reviewed results at your doorstep in Dubai.

Understanding Echocardiography: The Heart Ultrasound
Echocardiography is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to create moving pictures of the heart in real time. It is the most widely used cardiac imaging modality worldwide and provides essential information about heart structure and function without exposing the patient to radiation. The test evaluates the size of the heart chambers, the thickness and motion of the heart walls, the function of the heart valves, the direction and velocity of blood flow, and the overall pumping efficiency of the heart measured as the ejection fraction.
The ejection fraction (EF) is one of the most clinically important measurements obtained from an echocardiogram. It represents the percentage of blood pumped out of the left ventricle with each heartbeat. A normal EF is typically 55 to 70 percent. Values below 40 percent indicate significant systolic dysfunction and are central to the diagnosis and staging of heart failure. Serial echo monitoring of EF helps cardiologists adjust medications, plan interventions, and track treatment response over time.
Valve assessment is another critical component. The echo can detect stenosis (narrowing) and regurgitation (leaking) of all four heart valves. Colour Doppler imaging shows the direction and turbulence of blood flow across the valves, while continuous-wave and pulsed-wave Doppler measure flow velocities and pressure gradients. These measurements determine the severity of valve disease and guide decisions about medical management, surveillance intervals, or surgical referral.
In Dubai, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death, driven by high rates of diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and sedentary lifestyles. Regular cardiac assessment, including echocardiography for at-risk patients, enables early detection of structural and functional changes before symptoms become severe. Home-based echocardiography makes this critical screening accessible to patients who face barriers to clinic attendance, including the elderly, those with mobility limitations, and patients recovering from surgery or hospitalisation.
Conditions Assessed with Home Echocardiography
Heart Failure
Ejection fraction measurement, diastolic function assessment, and chamber size evaluation to diagnose, stage, and monitor heart failure treatment response.
Valve Disease
Comprehensive assessment of mitral, aortic, tricuspid, and pulmonary valves for stenosis, regurgitation, and structural abnormalities using 2D and Doppler imaging.
Hypertensive Heart Disease
Detection of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), diastolic dysfunction, and early cardiac remodelling caused by chronic high blood pressure.
Pericardial Effusion
Identification and quantification of fluid around the heart, which may indicate infection, inflammation, or other systemic conditions.
Cardiomyopathy
Assessment of dilated, hypertrophic, and restrictive cardiomyopathies through chamber measurements, wall thickness, and systolic function analysis.
Post-Surgical Monitoring
Follow-up echo after cardiac surgery, valve replacement, or coronary bypass to assess recovery and detect complications.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Echo at Home in Dubai.
A home echocardiogram is a portable heart ultrasound performed at your residence by a trained cardiac sonographer. It produces the same diagnostic images as a clinic-based echo, showing heart chambers, valves, blood flow, and overall cardiac function. The images are then reviewed by a cardiologist who produces a detailed written report.
Modern portable echocardiography equipment produces diagnostic-quality images comparable to hospital-based systems for the vast majority of clinical indications. Our sonographers use standardised imaging protocols and capture all required views. In rare cases where body habitus or technical factors limit image quality, we will advise you if a clinic-based study is recommended instead.
No special preparation is needed. Wear a loose-fitting top or shirt that allows easy access to your chest. There is no need to fast. If you have previous echo reports, ECGs, or cardiology letters, have them available for reference. The sonographer will need a bed or couch where you can lie on your left side comfortably.
The actual scanning takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the clinical indication and image quality. Including setup and positioning, expect the visit to last about 45 minutes to one hour total.
All echocardiograms are reviewed and reported by a qualified cardiologist. The sonographer captures the images and measurements during the home visit, and the data is securely transmitted for specialist interpretation. You receive a full written report typically within 24 to 48 hours.
Some insurance plans in the UAE cover home echocardiography, particularly for patients with documented medical need such as immobility, heart failure, or post-surgical monitoring. Pre-authorisation is typically required. Our team can check your coverage before scheduling. Self-pay pricing starts from AED 799.
The sonographer can share general observations but cannot provide a formal diagnosis during the visit. The official report, including measurements, findings, and clinical interpretation, comes from the cardiologist review and is delivered within 24 to 48 hours. If urgent findings are detected, the cardiologist is contacted immediately.
We serve residential areas across Dubai including Downtown, Dubai Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah, Business Bay, Jumeirah, Al Barsha, Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills, Motor City, Sports City, and surrounding communities. Contact us to confirm coverage for your specific location.
