General health checks
Start with your age, family history, symptoms and previous results. A clinician can help select blood count, glucose, cholesterol or other investigations when appropriate. A longer test list is not always more useful; confirm the exact tests and whether a result-review consultation is included.
Diabetes monitoring
For an established diabetes care plan, discuss the requested HbA1c, glucose, kidney and lipid tests together. HbA1c alone usually does not need fasting, but other ordered tests may. Eye examinations and detailed foot assessments may require separate appointments. For a single test use our home blood-testing service; for ongoing nursing or monitoring support use Diabetes Care at Home.
Health checks for older adults
Share medication lists, mobility needs and recent hospital records before arranging a visit. The agreed assessment can focus on an existing care plan and requested tests while avoiding unnecessary repeats. Blood collection does not replace a falls, memory or functional assessment; discuss those needs separately with the clinician.
Women's health checks
Discuss symptoms, pregnancy status and previous screening with the clinician so relevant tests can be selected. Iron, thyroid or other investigations depend on the reason for assessment. Mammography, cervical screening and internal examinations have separate requirements and are not implied by a home blood-collection appointment.
Men's health checks
The test list depends on age, symptoms, family history and previous findings. Glucose or lipid testing may be appropriate for risk assessment; PSA and hormone tests need an individual discussion of benefits and limitations. Confirm what the clinician will review and which examinations require a clinic visit.
Heart health checks
Discuss blood-pressure records, cardiovascular risk factors and any requested blood tests. A home ECG, echocardiogram or monitoring device is a separate investigation and is included only when specified in the quotation.
